Emerging Business:
Australian Restoration and Construction

Australian Restoration and Construction is a builder that specialises in insurance emergency restoration and repair services along Australia's east coast. Established in 2014 in Jordan Powell's home, the business turned over $1 million dollars in its first year. The company now has 10 full-time employees and more than 200 subcontractors on its books while its customers include Allianz, Westpac and RACQ.

Family Business Award:
Visual Diversity Homes

Visual Diversity Homes is owned and operated by brothers Tony and Dan Smith and Tony's wife, Kristie. Two other family members work in the business. Visual Diversity was launched in 2003 and has grown to 94 employees. At any one time, the company can be building up to 40 new Visual Diversity Homes, predominantly for first-home buyers, throughout South East Queensland.

Retail, Wholesale and Distribution Award:
Inspirations Paint Nerang and Oxenford

Inspirations Paint Nerang and Oxenford is a retailer and trade supplier of paint and painting equipment. The stores are owned by the Usher family, who have become synonymous with the paint industry since their arrival to the Gold Coast in 1985. Their Gold Coast stores have outperformed the other 100 stores in the Inspirations Paint Store of the Year Awards to become State and National winners over the past nine years.

Construction and Trades:
Condev Construction

Condev Construction is one of the most prominent and prolific construction companies in South East Queensland. The company undertakes projects in the $1m to $45m range. Condev, which was founded in 2002 by Steve and Tracy Marais, now employs more than 137 staff and has 27 different projects under construction. Since 2011, Condev has received nearly 50 construction and business awards, including six awards at this year's Master Builders Awards.

Manufacturing:
Digga Australia

Digga is Australia's largest manufacturer of mini loaders and machinery attachments for the earthmoving and construction industry. The company manufactures a range of three fully configurable mini loaders and a range of 70 different attachments.  While rebuilding its 12,500sqm factory after a fire in 2016 and operating from five different facilities, Digga still increased production and grew global sales by 17%. Digga now distributes its products through an extensive dealer network in more than 30 countries.

Professions and Business Services Award:
Wahlstrom Financial Services

Wahlstrom Financial Services is a financial planning business that services clients in Australia and New Zealand. Established in 1989 with a single financial planner, the business now employs 19 people and its headquarters spans the entire fifth level of 128 Bundall Road.
Earlier this year Wahlstroms were presented with the Practice of the Year Award at the Millennium 3 Financial Services Awards.

Health and Wellbeing Award:
Feros Care

Feros Care is a multi-award winning not-for-profit organisation that has offered aged and community care services since 1990. Feros Care's services support seniors, people with a disability and people who are needing support with their health, rehabilitation and wellbeing. Every year Feros supports more than 50,000 clients in 40 regions across six states and territories of Australia and have recently started services in New Zealand.

IT, Knowledge Management and Digital Services Award:
Opmantek

Opmantek is a developer of software in the field of IT Infrastructure Management. Opmantek's flagship product, NMIS, is an enterprise class, globally acknowledged network management platform. Around the world a new organisation installs an Opmantek product every six minutes, making the company Australia's largest supplier and exporter of business software by user base. With users in 130 countries, the company has been the recipient of numerous Australian and Global IT awards.

Tourism, Hospitality and Events Award:
The Scenic Day Tour Group

The largest day touring company in Queensland, The Scenic Day Tour Group specialises in day tours on the Gold Coast, Brisbane, South East Queensland and Northern NSW. Founded 22 years ago, The Scenic Day Tour Group provides 15 unique experiences including hot air ballooning, hinterland day tours, Aussie adventure days, glow worm tours, and four-wheel drive adventures.

Mayor's Innovation GC Award:
Nova Biomedical

Yatala-headquartered Nova Biomedical is a national and international supplier of specialist testing and maintenance services for the health industry. Nova is a biomedical engineering company that performs planned maintenance and reports to medical equipment. Established in 2012 by the Welch family, the company has now grown to employ eight full-time employees and six casual employees, who are called in for specific projects.
