CartonCloud provides an integrated Transport and Warehouse Management System for freight companies and warehouse providers. They sell a software application whereby users pay per-job on a transactional basis. While the company mostly works with small to medium enterprises, it also works with a small group of large logistics companies such as DHL.

Family Business:
John Henderson Real Estate

John Henderson Professionals Mermaid Beach is a family run business that has been operating for 45 years. Started by John Henderson, it is now run by two of his sons, Andrew and Luke Henderson. The business employs 28 people, has annual property sales of more than $130 million and manages more than 500 properties. Eight employees are members of the Henderson family.

 

Retail, Wholesale and Distribution:
Totally WorkWear

Totally Workwear Gold Coast is an industrial and corporate uniform supplier specialising in Hi Visibility Gear, Safety Wear, Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Boots. Totally Workwear Gold Coast is independently owned by Carey and Jason de Boer. The business has five retail stores across the Gold Coast and has sold more than 200,000 products in the past year.

Manufacturing:
Brauer Industries

Brauer Industries was established in 2004 and is now Australia's leader in air and water purification technologies. Brauer uses its own patented Ozone-based technologies for both commercial and residential applications and invests heavily in research and development. They work closely with the City of Gold Coast and 34 commercially owned swim schools to help offer exceptional water quality.

Construction and Trades:
SEE Group

SEE Group specialise in civil construction with a focus in four main areas civil infrastructure, urban development, plant management and quarrying and material processing. SEE Group is owned and operated by two generations of the Turner family and now employs 260 staff. Recently, it was recognised as one of Top 200 Businesses by the 2018 Westpac Businesses of Tomorrow program.

Professions and Business Services:
Keolis Downer Gold Coast

Keolis Downer Gold Coast is the operator of G:Link, the Gold Coast's light rail service. Established in 2011, the company now has 212 employees. G:link transports an average of 37,000 passengers a day and runs more than 1800 tram services between Helensvale and Broadbeach every week. More than 34 million trips have been taken since the light rail service started in July 2014.

Health and Wellbeing:
Back in Motion Bundall

Back in Motion Bundall provides specialised physiotherapy services. Launched in 2012 by Justin Mistry, the business now employs a team of 8 physiotherapists and 4 administration staff. Back in Motion Bundall now averages 130 new clients per month and has been recognised as the 4th highest performing practice in a national network of more than 50 practices.

IT and Digital Business:
MaxSoft

MaxSoft supplies software and financial services solutions for managing strata title Communities. Founded in 1992, the group is the Australian market leader in strata management software and financial solutions. The number of properties under management using StrataMax software exceeded 650,000, with the managers of some of Australia's largest commercial and residential buildings using the software daily.

Tourism, Hospitality and Events:
Fish the Deep Charters

Fish the Deep is a deep-sea fishing charter operator, owned and operated by Tiana van Burck and her son Scott. The business services to up to 7000 locals, tourists and school groups every year. Fish the Deep's return business is so high that its charters are now booked out four months in advance.

Student Employability:
Glass Media Group

Glass Media Group is a video production company that operates Australia wide. Their Student Development Integrated Program enables film and media students at tertiary and high school levels to help produce media content. During the Commonwealth Games, 25 students from Bond University and TAFE Gold Coast gained on-the-job experience providing coverage of Festival 2018. Glass Media Group's programs help young talent to break into the industry.

Mayor's Innovation GC Award:
Powertec Telecommunications


Powertec Telecommunications is a global hardware and communications company. They provide products to improve wi-fi coverage, machine to machine learning, antennas, gateways, routers and modems. Starting out as a one-man team in 1995, the company now employs 32 staff and has grown into an international operation with offices in NSW, Victoria, WA, QLD, NT and New Zealand.
