Macro Mike, which was launched in 2017, provides a range of more than 50 health food products. The company's powdered peanut butter is its best-selling product and can be mixed with water or mixed directly into protein shakes, smoothies, yoghurts and other foods. Macro Mike now orders 11,000kg of peanut powder per month to meet demand and deals with some of Australia's biggest retailers including Woolworths.

SEE Group
SEE Group is a vertically integrated company that specialises in four main areas civil infrastructure, urban development, plant management and quarrying and material processing. Founded by brothers Brian and Bruce Turner in 1988, SEE Group is owned and operated by two generations of the Turner family and now employs 351 staff. In 2018, it was recognised as one of the Top 200 Businesses by the 2018 Westpac Businesses of Tomorrow program.

Balense Skin
Balense Skin is a cosmetics business that provides solutions to customers with skin conditions. Founder Wendy Reiner used "active" skincare ingredients to develop a range of 35 products in the marketplace that are now distributed through skin clinics throughout Australia and New Zealand. The company holds patents in Australia, the United States of America and the United Kingdom for its cosmeceutical products.

Skyline Landscape Services
Launched in 1991 by brothers Colin and Chris Richardson, Skyline Landscape Services is now the largest privately owned horticultural, landscape and grounds maintenance company in Australia. After recently securing two major contracts the Sydney City Council and Vic Roads they are on track to employ between 600 and 700 people and to record at least 35% revenue growth in 2019-2020.

Simtech
From humble signwriting beginnings to worldwide corporate headquarters, Simtech have achieved immense growth in global casino LED and visual displays. Recently designing, manufacturing and installing 5 of the largest indoor LED displays in the world, Simtech will continue to challenge the realities of visualisation and innovation throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the USA, all while being based locally here on the Gold Coast.

ISR Training
ISR Training is one of Australia's largest sales and negotiation training provider. Backed by 3 sharks from Channel 10's Shark Tank, ISR offers face-to-face and digital training services in sales, negotiation, emotional intelligence, behavioural sciences, tonality & body language. The company now has more than 4000 businesses and salespeople subscribed to its digital service including Mercedes Benz, Princess Cruises, Raine & Horne and Metricon Homes.

Medical Rescue
Medical Rescue is a specialist private, pre-hospital emergency medical and aeromedical service that provides medical teams, medical jets and search-and rescue helicopters. Providing end-to-end medical and evacuation solutions, the company has grown exponentially since starting on the Gold Coast in 2011. Employing more than 150 staff, Medical Rescue looks after more than 7000 patients each year and holds long-term contracts with private and government sectors, such as the Australian Defence Force.

IT and Digital Business

onPlatinum ICT
Established in 2012 by Robbie Bennetts and Shannon Overs, onPlatinum ICT services clients' information, communication and technology needs. Its services include cloud computing, hosted business phone systems, backup and disaster recovery, managed IT services, business grade internet connectivity, website creation and search engine optimisation. The Robina-based company has 38 employees and services clients both nationally and internationally ranging from small SMEs to corporates in excess of 800 employees.

Tourism, Hospitality and Events

Experience Oz
Experience Oz has grown from a local, Gold Coast-specific business to become the largest online booking portal in Australia and New Zealand for more than 3000 tours, activities and experiences. The 10-year-old Surfers Paradise-based business now has more than 40 employees and in 2019 was awarded the 'Online Booking Website of the Year' by the Australian Travel Awards.

Student Employability

Urbis
Urbis is a national planning and property consultancy which advises developers, property owners, community groups, industry associations and all levels of government. In 2019, Urbis facilitated a design project for the Gold Coast Student Hub to involve local design students. The project enabled students from different education providers to work together to create the design of the external areas of the Hub.

Mayor's Innovation GC

NewBook
NewBook is a technology platform provider that specialises in serving the accommodation industry. Its platform offers a suite of services including a booking system, direct booking engine, websites, promotional tools and a self-service guest app. Founded by long-term tourism industry figure Brad Illich, the company has 49 employees on the Gold Coast and 8 in London and the US.
