Mike Kellett started his health food business Macro Mike three years ago in his one-bedroom apartment. Macro Mike now averages 200 orders a day and their products are now sold in more than 3000 stores across the country. Coles has just agreed to their products in more than 600 stores nationally.
NTS Group
NTS Group specialises in civil pipeline infrastructure works for government authorities and businesses nationwide. NTS Group, which was established in 2005, now employs 75 people and has been involved with some of Queensland's most challenging civil contracting projects. This has included works for the Gold Coast Light Rail, the 2018 Commonwealth Games and Gold Coast Water and Waste.
Knotwood
Knotwood is an Australian owned and operated company that produces high quality, wood-look aluminium systems for fencing, decking and gates. The company, which has 80 employees, exports its products to the UK, USA, New Zealand, Caribbean and Canada. On average, Knotwood exports two 40-foot containers per month of products worldwide.
TCLH
Launched in 2015 by Craig and Lucy Johnston, TCLH is a leading provider of hospitality labour hire, camp management and catering services to clients in remote industries. The business has grown from 4 staff to 80, services multi-national clients and has two offices on the Gold Coast and in Perth.
Amtan Medical Centres
Husband-and-wife team Dr Ameer Hamza and Dr Tanya Unni opened their first medical centre in Ormeau in April 2011. They now have a portfolio of eight practices across the Gold Coast. They have also established two salons specialising in cosmetic beauty treatments, developed a range of beauty products, co-founded four cardiology centres and three radiology centres.
BITS Technology Group
BITS Technology Group is a managed-IT Services and IT consulting firm. BITS services companies nationally and internationally. The business now has 98 clients ranging from micro businesses through to large, national businesses. Founder, Bernard Mangelsdorf, was crowned three times as the Gold Coast's Young Entrepreneur of the Year for technology and has been ranked in the top 100 Entrepreneurs in Australia.
Lauxes Grates
Lauxes Grates designs and manufactures versatile indoor/outdoor drainage solutions. The company's grates are now stocked nationally and internationally by tiling, plumbing and hardware stores. Lauxes Grates has enjoyed 54 per cent sales growth for its linear grates over the past 12 months. Lauxes Grates supports students by providing internships for university students and school-based traineeships.
DOCKPRO
DOCKPRO develops, builds, and distributes innovative dry-docking solutions throughout Australia and the world. Dockpro now sells an average of 10 SeaPens a week and exports to New Zealand, the US and Hong Kong. In 2019, Dockpro was awarded the Miami International Boat Show award for Innovation.
GCD Exhibitions
Established more than 40 years ago, GCD Exhibitions designs, builds and installs custom exhibition displays and company fitouts. GCD's exhibition displays are used throughout the world with clients including Swisse, Louis Vuitton and Canon. During the past year the company has increased its national market share significantly.
