Environment and Sustainability Award:

Mark Rigby & Associates

Mark Rigby & Associates Pty Ltd (MRA) was set up in 1998 to provide professional environmental protection and environmental health services to the private and public sectors of the Gold Coast.  The company has grown from a sole proprietor supplying quality environmental consulting services from his home office, to a firm that now owns its Robina office and employs six people.  MRA counts among its clients Boral, Delfin / Lend Lease, the Council of the City of Gold Coast, Grocon, Qld Department of Transport and Main Roads, DBI Architects, to name a few.

 

Family Business Award:

Pacific Hoseflex

Pacific Hoseflex is a manufacturer of Industrial hose assemblies, fittings, lined pipe, swivel joints, expansion joints plus many more fluid transfer solutions. The business services many industries including oil, gas, water, resources, chemical, pharmaceutical, onshore, offshore, communications and food and beverage. Recognized as an industry leader in engineering fluid transfer products, Pacific Hoseflex is a third generation Australian owned and operated business.

 

Health and Wellbeing Award:

Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat

Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat is one of the few Eco Tourism certified health retreats in Australia and offers an exclusive health and wellness destination for guests to re-focus on their health. Fully inclusive packages include stylish eco accommodation, diverse range of activities, organic cuisine and the largest spa in the Southern Hemisphere. The retreat opened in 2006 and has spectacular views of the surrounding valley and ocean.

 

Trades, Professions and Services Award:

Master Floor Preparers

Master Floor Preparers specialise in providing flooring solutions for large and small builders alike. Master Floor Preparers started as a company in 2003 with five people and has since grown to now employ 20 people. They have worked on high profile projects such as Q1, Myer Queen Street, Westfield Helensvale, Roma Street Parklands, Southport Central and Gold Coast Convention Centre

 

Retail, Wholesale and Distribution Award:

Burleigh Brewing Company

Burleigh Brewing Company is a leading brewer of a range of craft beers. All beers in their extensive line-up have won world championship medals and they were named the 2013 Telstra Queensland Business of the Year. The company’s core vision is to define modern Australian craft brewing standards while inspiring freedom of choice and discovery.

 

Manufacturing and Constuction Award:

Coffee Roasters Australia

Coffee Roasters Australia specialises in supplying high quality coffee roasting equipment. Coffee Roasters Australia was established in 2002 largely as a distributor for Coffee Roasting machines to the Australian market. The company has evolved to now design and manufacture coffee roasting equipment, coffee roasting software, and the wholesale manufacturing of coffee capsules for a variety of coffee roasting customers.

 

Knowledge Management and IT Award:

iVvy

iVvy has developed a cloud-based event management software. Thousands of people in nine countries use iVvy's software to manage every part of their events.  iVvy’s target customers include everyone who manages events, including small event organisers, associations, governments and large corporates. This year Ivvy launched their second product, 'iVvy Venues' - cloud-based software designed to help venues market, sell and manage their function spaces, catering, equipment and accommodation all in the one place.

 

Tourism, Hospitality and Events Award:

Con-x-ion Airport Transfers

Con-x-ion is a major ground transport operator in South-East Queensland.  They aim to be the premier ground transport operator in Australia for airport shuttle services. They believe that their service plays a vital role in the local tourism industry, in supporting local tourist attractions, airports and accommodation providers. They are often the first point of contact many tourists have of South-East Queensland.

 

Emerging Business Award:

SEQ Electrical

SEQ Electrical Communications Data was founded in a small office in Southport in 2011. Within four years the company has grown to have annual revenues of more than $21 million, it employs 115 people and it has a presence in the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Northern NSW, and Darwin. Their core business is medium to large-scale projects. They perform work in six key areas, being commercial construction; Defence Force facilities; Government; retail; infrastructure and telecommunications.
