Patriot Campers

Patriot Campers is a manufacturer of camper trailers and modified 4X4 vehicles. Established in 2014, Patriot Campers has enjoyed exponential sales success, exports to USA, Mongolia and Dubai ; and now employs 70 people. The company has won the Australian Camper Trailer of the Year award every year since its inception.

Family Business Award:
Lucy Cole Prestige Properties

Lucy Cole Prestige Properties is the largest independent real estate agency on the Gold Coast and one of the largest independent residential agencies in Queensland. Established in a small, one-person office on the Isle of Capri on New Year's Day, 2000, the business now has two offices, 30 employees and thousands of clients. In recent years, Lucy's sons John and Nick have joined the business and have taken on greater responsibilities within the operation.

Retail, Wholesale and Distribution Award:
Totally Workwear

Totally Workwear Gold Coast is an industrial and corporate uniform supplier specialising in Hi Visibility Gear, Safety Wear, Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Boots. Totally Workwear Gold Coast is independently owned by Carey and Jason de Boer.  The business, which is a member of a national buying group, has four retail stores across the Gold Coast and has sold more than 200,000 products in the past year.

Construction and Trades:
Dynamic Hydro Excavations

Dynamic Hydro Excavations provides specialist digging services using highly pressurised water and industrial-strength vacuums to excavate and evacuate soil. The company's other services include CCTV pipe Inspections, utility location services, road maintenance, road sweeping, disaster recovery and traffic control. Established in 2003, Dynamic Hydro Excavations now has 50 employees and has multiple locations throughout Australia.

Prestige Blending

Prestige Blending provides custom blending and packing services for local and international customers. The company was started in 2008 to initially cater for the blending needs of two medium sized sports nutrition brands, International Protein and Evolve Nutrition. The company quickly expanded and now exports to 24 countries and are aiming for 68 countries by the end of 2018.

Professions and Business Services Award:
Amaze Early Education and Active Centres

Amaze Early Education and Active Centres provides childcare, kindergarten programs and outside school hours care. Launched in 2008 by sisters Lucy Cook and Alison Mazey, Amaze has grown from one Early Education Centre to now total seven centres.  Alison's husband, Phil Mazey, and her father-in-law, Bruce Mazey are now among the company's 95 employees.

Health and Wellbeing Award:

Arundel-based Morlife is a functional foods company that manufactures specialised foods which provide high nutritional value for specific purposes. Morlife products are available online and through major retailers including Woolworths, Coles, Costco, and IGA as well as health food stores. The company, which has 69 employees, exports to Asia, the Middle East, Hong Kong, Singapore and the USA. Morlife has been the recipient of numerous awards over recent years, including winners in 5 categories of the 2016 Australian Business Awards.

IT, Knowledge Management and Digital Services Award:
onPlatinum ICT

onPlatinum ICT services clients' information technology, communication and creative needs. Its services include cloud computing, hosted business phone systems, backup and disaster recovery, managed IT services, business grade internet connectivity, print solutions, multimedia and marketing services, website creation, and search engine optimisation. The Robina-based company has 22 employees.

Tourism, Hospitality and Events Award:
Global Tour Specialists

Global Tour Specialists is an Inbound Tour Operator that provides a complete touring package for Australian travelling experiences. Established in 2013 by Tyler Wood and Jay McKenzie, Global Tour Specialists currently work closely with one of the top five luxury travel agents in China and are in negotiation with several others. They are also developing relationships with agencies in Korea, Japan, Malaysia and India.

Mayor's Innovation GC Award:

Ecosure provides environmental consultancy services including infrastructure development, strategic planning, threatened species and pest management and restoration of natural areas. Starting from a home office more than 20 years ago, Ecosure now has offices up and down the East Coast of Australia and Adelaide. At present, Ecosure is working on the largest koala conservation project ever undertaken in Queensland.


Property group wins business of year title
