GCMarine Rides Big Wave of Business Success

Gold Coast marina manufacturing business GCMarine is riding a wave of success after collecting a boatload of recent awards.

The Arundel headquartered business this week won the Mayor’s Innovation Award at the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards, held at the council chambers.

The victory came only four days after GCMarine won two awards at the Australian Superyacht & Marine Export Awards, which were held in conjunction with the Sanctuary Cover Boat Show. GC Marine took the Exporter of the Year and Commercial Project/Design or Manufacturer of the Year awards.

Managing Director Matthew Browning started the business in 2014 and it has quickly grown to now employ 45 people.

GCMarine provides custom marine products such as pontoons, jetties and marinas as well as associated services throughout the South Pacific.

On the Gold Coast the company developed the major structural floating elements for the $3.5 million La Luna Beach Club at Marina Mirage. The floating entertainment centre was developed through a collaboration between Gold Coast restaurateurs The Gennari Group in collaboration with Marina Mirage owners Makris Group.

La Luna Beach Club features an indoor fine dining restaurant, two spacious pools separated by a runway, poolside day beds, sun lounges, private cabanas and an expansive bar.

Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards vice president Richard Holt said GCMarine was a worthy winner of the Mayor’s Innovation Award.

“The judges were very impressed with the world-class design and construction process that GCMarine displays in its day-to-day operations,’’ said Mr Holt.

“They are another example of a successful Gold Coast business that is achieving great things in the international market.”
