Arundel-headquartered marine sports dealer JSW Powersports has been honoured for its international achievements.

The company, which has been jet ski manufacturer Sea Doo's number one dealer in the world for the past five years, has been recognised in the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards after sweeping the Retail, Wholesale and Distribution category for June.

The company was presented with the award at a ceremony held at KPMG this week.

Owner Jeff McNiven launched the business in 1998 as a small mechanical workshop servicing personal watercraft.

Marketing manager Oliver Bennett said the company had grown significantly during the past 19 years and now employed more than 40 people.

"We started selling all brands of personal watercraft under the name Jet Ski Warehouse in 2001," said Mr Bennett.

"The business grew in leaps and bounds and we soon outgrew our premises forcing us to move in 2011 to Ereton Drive in Arundel.

"Along with this move we became JSW Powersports, the Sea-Doo dealer on the Gold Coast and are now the number one Sea-Doo dealer in the world."

JSW Powersports is also the Australian distributor of Sea Fox Boats as well as Malibu and Axis boat dealers for wakeboarding and water-skiing towboats. The company's offerings also include Can-Am all-terrain and on-road vehicles.
