SEE Group Marks Birthday with Award Win

A Helensvale-headquartered company that is celebrating its 35th birthday, has won a family business award.

SEE Group, which was established in 1988 by brothers Brian and Bruce Turner, was named the winner of the Family Business category at the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards for September.

Executive director Peta Newton said the company, which started life as an earthmoving company, now employs around 350 people and operates in the construction, development, and mining sectors.

“SEE Group has grown significantly over the past five years,’’ Ms Newton said. “The goal for our business over the next five years is to maintain this growth at a sustainable level and to continue to innovate in our products and services.”

The company is now owned the by the second generation of the Turner family and six family members work in the different arms of the operation.

“We are now a vertically integrated business that comprises SEE Civil, DMC Quarries, Quarry Solutions and Civil Rent,” Ms Newton said.

“SEE Civil provides construction and engineering solutions for major infrastructure projects within Queensland and NSW while Civil Rent manages a fleet of about 300 construction vehicles and machinery.

“DMC Quarries supplies bulk decorative and specialty stone products while Quarry Solutions provides fixed and mobile material extraction services.”

Ms Newton said it was the third year in a row that SEE Group had won a Gold Coast Business Excellence Award, but it was still exciting to receive such an accolade.
