Vinnies 2016 CEO Sleepout

What an amazing success the inaugural CEO Sleepout was!

Held on Thursday 23rd June at Cbus Stadium on a cool but not cold night, 140 CEO's and community leaders, including Colin Wheeler, Director of Document Solutions Australia and major supporter of the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards, experienced a brief taste of what over 1300 people on the Gold Coast do every night.

The staggering amount of $441,000 to date was raised by the CEO's and for that they all got to sleep on a luxurious piece of cardboard.

Some Facts:

  • The Gold Coast had the 4th highest participation of CEO's (141) in the country (only Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane had more)
  • The Gold Coast had the 6th highest fund raising total
  • The Gold Coast were No 1 per capita for funds raised
Their highest fund raiser was Clive van Deventer, CEO of Bartercard with over $67,000, closely followed by Soheil Abedian of Sunland with nearly $64,000. Rob Gibson, Tony Hickey, Colin Wheeler and Rebecca Frizelle making up the top 6.

ALL funds raised remain on the Gold Coast and ALL funds are being put toward a Crisis and Intervention Centre to assist those with nowhere to go.

June 22nd 2017 is next year's date. Their goal is to reach No 2 in participation (in our 2nd year) and for that they need you, the Gold Coast Business community to get involved!

Think of the message that they would send to corporate Australia, Gold Coast, a thriving business community with compassion and a heart!
