Struber

Struber is a communications and marketing consultancy business. The business was started in Burleigh Heads in the bedroom of Julie Castle. It now employs a team of 32 people and has offices in Nerang, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Manila. The company now services 70 clients, including some of Australia's largest construction, engineering, infrastructure companies and major contractors.

Family Business:
Master Floors Group

Master Floors Group is a  commercial floor preparation and coverings company. Established in January 2004 by Mike Dunn, Master Floor Preparers services customers in the construction industry. Master Floors Group is now Australia's largest single provider of its kind and works with clients ranging from independent builders through to every Tier 1 builder in Australia.

Retail, Wholesale and Distribution:
Ezi Office Supplies

Ezi Office Supplies is a Southport-headquartered corporate office supply company. The Gold Coast company successfully competes nationally against much larger rivals through greater efficiency and customer service. Under the ownership of Ajay Amin, the company has invested heavily in technology to make ordering products easier for clients and improve the efficiency of Ezi's own operations.

Manufacturing:
AAC ID Solutions

AAC ID Solutions is a leading manufacturer and supplier of custom wristbands and ID options for crowd management and security control including branded lanyards, identity pouches and wallets, all-purpose customisable and pre-printed tickets. Established in early 1995, the business now exports to South East Asia and the South Pacific as well as servicing the Australia.

Construction and Trades:
Nucrush Group

The Nucrush Group has two main businesses, Nucrush, which produces quarry and natural stone products, and Nucon, which produces and delivers pre-mixed concrete. The group, which provides work for 126 people, has been servicing the Gold Coast's construction needs for more than 50 years and remains 100% Gold Coast owned by the Neumann Family.

Professions and Business Services:
Synergy Resource Management

Synergy Resource Management provides contracting services specialising in civil construction, demolition and environmental contamination remediation. Headquartered in Bundall, the company now employs 45 people and has worked on more than 300 projects, ranging from civil construction and demolition through to environmental remediation.

Health and Wellbeing:
Balense Skin

Balense Skin is a cosmetics business that provides solutions to customers with skin conditions. Founder Wendy Reiner used "active" skincare ingredients to develop a range of 17 products that are now distributed through clinics throughout Australia. The company holds patents in Australia, the United States of America and the United Kingdom for its cosmeceutical products.

IT and Digital Business:
Coastal Computer Medics

Coastal Computer Medics is an IT consultancy specialising in Construction and Medical industries. The company works with small family businesses right through to corporate, nationwide clients. Its services range from repairs through to development of server and network infrastructure. Founded in 2011 by Simon Papworth, the company is enjoying rapid growth, with revenue quadrupling in the past three years.

Tourism, Hospitality and Events:
Gold Coast Gondolas

Gold Coast Gondolas have been a common sight on Gold Coast waterways since April 2000. Now owned by Michael and Taryn Sims, the business provides customers with private, luxury cruises and dining experiences for up to six people. Through the use of social media, the Sims have increased monthly sales by more than 200 per cent.

Student Employability:
HTG Solutions

HTG Solutions employs more than 200 people in the telecommunications and IT industries. HTG works with Gold Coast education providers to provide students unique workplace experiences. HTG partnered with Bond University to run an Entrepreneur Internship offering a $5000 business grant and a 10-week internship. Recently 19 TAFE graphic design students were asked to build a recruitment campaign for HTG. The winning design will be integrated into HTG's campaign.

Mayor's Innovation GC:
Pivotel Satellite

Pivotel is a satellite communications company based in Southport. One of just four mobile telecommunications network providers in Australia, the company provides quality communication products and networks for workers, travellers, and residents in remote and rural areas. The company has an Australian and New Zealand network of more than 170 dealers and now has 100 staff spanning Australia, New Zealand, USA and Indonesia.
